Rashid is a queer graduate student from Kenya in his late 20s living in New York City. When his beloved aunt Maryam and her girlfriend Sheila come to visit him, he and Sheila go out dancing in the city, leading to nights spent together in a hotel. What at first glance is a possible betrayal, then an exploration of desire and queerness, is ultimately revealed to be something more nuanced, beautiful and complicated; a story about commitment, love, and the unconventional ways family is created.
